DFS Plays for Week 1

Updated: Sep 13, 2020

Well week 1 is upon us and it is time for us to dive head first into this Sunday's NFL DFS main slate. Our goal here is always to double our money, hit our cash games to turn a profit and pay for your GPP lottery tickets. We all want to win that big tournament, but in the end, we will redepositing. Slow and steady is the way to roll. Every Friday I'll be right here for you to let you know the players I am rolling with in my cash games and GPP. Let's roll!

Quarterback

Baker Mayfield (7000 FD/5700 DK) People are down on him but with added weapons and improvement to the line I expect big things. This might be a garbage time finger-cross play, assuming the Ravens come out strong and the Browns have to play catch up, although they did beat Baltimore outright last September in a game Mayfield threw for 342 yards.

Russ Wilson (8400/7000) This game should be a shootout with a 49 total as the 2nd highest point total on the slate. Russ was the favorite for league MVP after September last year, so I'm expecting him to come out firing here. Quick, indoor turf is a big boost.

Matt Ryan (7800/6700) The other side of the shoot out, cheaper way to get exposure on FD.

Drew Brees  (8100/6800) Always big performances vs Tampa as he averaged 333 yards and 3 TD per game since 2018. Add in Tom Brady on the field and this could be fun

Aaron Rodgers (7500/6300) The fantasy industry has basically turned the page on him but any and every week he is in play to be the QB1. I'll take that at sub 10% ownership as my GPP special at QB. Rodgers averages 244 yards and 2 TD with a 105 passer rating through his career in divisional games.

Running Back

CMC (10k, 10k) No fancy analysis. That boy good. Find a way to get him in your lineup every week.

Miles Sanders (6800/6300) A little banged up so watch injury report, might be limited, but this is the cheapest he will be all season because of it. . Saquon lite can still give you some gpp gold even in a limited role at low onership UPDATE:Well this didn't take long. Sanders has been ruled out for Sunday. Boston Scott (4700/4800) is in a smash spot and certainly usable, but the sites did a good job pricing him above minimum. Scott becomes my FD cash play over Gibson(below), but is priced for GPP only on DK.

Austin Eckler (7700/7000) Too much value here to pass up, especially for PPR on Draft Kings. Tyrod Taylor has never supported 100 targets to a WR, I expect him to fall in love with Eckler quickly.

Antonio Gibson (4600/4000)  No AP,   no Guice,  and no Love for Bryce opens the door for this pass catching monster. Minimum price on DK will bring super high ownership, I'm hoping James Robinson deflects some of that and keeps it down.

Marlon Mack (6100/5300) 18 TD last two years, the GPP dart that I just cannot quit. CEH's performance on Thursday will bring everyone to Jonathan Taylor, so flip the script with this 1% dart throw

Wide Receiver

Julio Jones (8200/7700) It’s going to be me and   Julio down by the school yard. Target monster who should find the end zone more often. A must pair if you are using Ryan, or the perfect run back if using Wilson.

DK Metcalf (6400/5800) Price is broken, especially on DK. A monster target who will be in a shootout, pair with Russ or run it back with Ryan.

AJ Green (6200/5700)  Healthy and will be the security blanket for the young QB. When he's on the field he is a star. Price will help you build a Wilson/CMC/Julio/Metcalf lineup .

Marvin Jones (6200/5500) Probably super chalk with Golladay sitting out, I'd say roll with the herd in cash but use AJ Green for GPP

Bryan Edwards (4500/4000) Going to be on the field A LOT. The perfect way to pivot off of the Gibson/Robinson chalk. Use Edwards as your salary saver and load up at RB2 to differentiate yourself from the field.

Tight End

TJ Hockenson (5300/4200) Went off last year week 1. Without Golladay, alot of targets funnel his way. Price is better on DK.

George Kittle (8000/7200) Arizona is always terrible against the TE, but last year was historic. They gave up 96 receptions for 1148 yards and 16 TD!!!! In 2011, Rob Gronkowski has easily the greatest fantasy season by a TE with a line of 90/1327/17 TD. So basically, the Cards AVERAGE the worst of all time. Kittle is a free square.

Chris Herndon (4800/3300). Lack of options with a few WR hurt, his price will never be this low(pricing for week 1 was set weeks ago). Makes for a great FLEX as well if you want Kittle in there.

Rob Gronkowski (5500/4900) Pretty confident that Brady is going to force feed him a TD this week. Only need 2 catches and a handful of yards after that to pay off 2X salary. At least he doesn't have to worry about losing the 24/7 Championship on the field.

Defense

Bills (4700/3700) Playing Jets at home total is only 39

Colts (3700/3000) vs lowly Jaguars who will be trying to lose. Severely mispriced on both sites as the pricing was built while Fournette was still in town. This will be the cheapest you see a good defense against Jaxx all year.

Let’s start this season off on fire!!!
